The date/time display of ShoreTel IP phones might show incorrect values. Most of the time it'll show Jan xx or Feb xx. How to change settings through NTP - Windows.
Resolution:
The Shoretel IP Phones take date and time from the SNTP. Using Windows 2008 Domain Controller or the Shoretel server as a SNTP server might not work with the Shoretel IP 230 phones. Instead use an external SNTP server.
To find out what SNTP server the Shoretel phone currently uses, press mute then 4636 # then toggle through the settings until you get to the ntp server address.
You can set that up in the DHCP scope so the phone would get the ntp address from it. In the DHCP, add option 042 NTP server and set the value to an external well-known NTP server like 107.161.29.207.
Restart the Shoretel phone to get new settings from DHCP.
