When starting an IBM XSeries server you get the following error:
Controller #00: IBM ServiceRaid 8k at PCI Slot
Controller monitor V5.2-0[15412] Controller Kernel V5.2-0[15412]
!!!!Critical Error: Memory retention failure, unflushed cache lost!!!
Error: Controller Kernel Stopped running, Press any key to continue..."

Resolution:

This is an indication of ServeRaid card or ServeRaid battery issue. We had this issue at a customer. We ordered a refurbished Serveraid 8k and a battery for $25. We replaced card, but same issue persisted. Replacing the Raid Battery only (using the existing Serveraid) fixed the issue.
